Assaults by Staff or Residents: Nursing Home Neglect, NJ
Residents have the right to be free from verbal, physical, sexual and mental abuse. Residents must not be subject to abuse by anyone including staff, family members and other residents. Residents must not be placed in involuntary seclusion. Nursing homes must develop and implement written policies and procedures prohibiting abuse of residents.
Residents must also be protected against assaults by other residents. Nursing homes must be aware of the potential of assaultive conduct by residents and provide preventions from such resident to resident assault.
